https://developer.mozilla.org/devnews/index.php/2009/04/27/firefox-35-beta-4-now-available-for-download/ Not tried it yet anyone else?
Its says......Beta  :wimp: I'll wait till it's finally released, and probably then a couple of updates after that ;)
Damned, if you do damned if you don't

Steve

Its the last beta before the RCs. I may try it just to see how the speed compares with Safari but there again I suppose both may be classified as dodgy when it comes down to security.

Office 2007 SP2 and various other office updates have been released today via windows update on Vista and I expect other methods too. A whopping 374mb in total.

I guess they have to keep the numbers the same also I'm not sure if the stability fix applies on a Mac, it may do? Be interested to find out Sebby.  :)

Just installed the Office 2007 updates on Vista and it wanted to install IE8 as well !! Cancelled that bit.

I assume that means IE8 is now officially out there.

Just wondering if I should hold fire on that untill initial bugs have cleared, like compatability with anti-virus etc.

Glenn

I did the same last night, I'll wait until the dust has settled with IE8 before installing it.

It hasn't on mine yet, Steve, still showing as V7, though I'm trying Firefox on my WHS at the moment  :).

What is everyones problem with IE8  ::) Is it's because its with the dreaded MS. Everybody seems so happy when Firefox bring out something new but not when MS do. I have been running IE8 for some time and like it, in fact use it because I prefer it to Firefox and it's a hell of a lot better than Opera.  ;D

Gary

No issues with IE8 and my av which is Kaspersky, I think the av companies have long enough to work on it and are given final release code in advance so all goes smoothly, I was quite impressed with IE8 its the best release Microsoft have made in my view and really a no brainer security and feature wise. I find myself skipping between FF and IE8 which is a first, I had not used IE7 at all but installed it anyway to cripple the evil that was IE6. I would think most people could update without issue, just download IE8 from the Microsoft site rather than the update site, disconnect from the web, turn your AV and Spyware software off install it reboot and its done, it was a lot less painful than installing IE7 on XP I must admit. On Vista it was all over in a few minutes and working well.

I wouldnt go that far, Opera is feature rich and standards complaint to a much greater degree, I just wished Microsoft had added a download manager, if it had that it would be a lot better. But its still a good browser now, and considered by many safer than FF and Safari (windows version) that remains to be seen, but having each tab as a separate process is great, and also uses up shed loads of memory if you have loads open, but then again FF is a memory hog and has always been.  :dunno: all browsers now have good and bad points and IE8 is a very different beast, it had to be though really. Microsoft have to play catchup, just waiting for FF 3.5 now to give some of the privacy features that IE8 has. Oh and if IE8 had a dictionary like FF that would make help me at least. I cant dom wihout hat freature now. hAppily poted from IE8 inted of Firfoxe  ;D

I'm not sure, but I'll see if I can find out. :)

Noreen

MS just informed me that an important update was available to be installed, when I checked it was IE8. I haven't installed it yet, think that I'll wait for a while.
