iTunes 8.2 released, which supports the soon-to-be-released iPhone 3.0 OS (yay!) and also has accessibility improvements and bug fixes.

Rik

I'll settle for the bug fixes. :)

Thanks Rog.  I've beced tried Safari.

Me neither, until I got a Mac. Version 3 was nothing great, but v4 is pretty good. It's definitely faster than Firefox, plus I believe it's the only browser to pass the Acid3 test (and maybe Opera). The only reason I don't use it is because I like Firefox better because of add-ons, etc.

Simon

I was going to download the Windows version, but I forgot earlier.  Will give it a go sometime.  I like trying new browsers.  :)

I'll tell you something, it's absolutely rapid. I'm considering making the move...

Simon

I've just downloaded it, but will have to leave it till tomorrow, as I know I'll be up half the night if I start playing now.  ;)

Reading here I think thats sensible, no matter what you say there is no safe browser, Safari 4 just got an update more than 50 vulnerabilities in the browser, and look at the record number of patches for windows yesterday! Its hard to keep anything safe and third party apps are blamed like Adobe, but Microsoft and Apple are guilty of not always patching thier own systems there is an interesting article here on Apples security via El Reg http://www.theregister.co.uk/2009/06/09/apple_security_suggestions/ its really a case of trying to avoid getting trapped, maybe Open DNS is a better way to go, I know Sebby uses it a lot, I have had my doubts as it to could be poisoned and I wonder about privacy, but privacy is something we lack on the net anyway now, to be honest Open DNS is probably safer, if we cannot keep our systems patched because none are available then we have to look elsewhere for safety, FF last year had more holes than IE, Opera, and Safari put together, so maybe the walled garden approach although more restrictive is a better way, there really is no easy answer, and as the government push more people to be online by putting services on the net, some people like my mother need protection that does not take great computer literacy, and the browser is not the place to tout security I feel, as it can then lead to big trouble.
Damned, if you do damned if you don't

Gary

Adobe reader 9.12 released as part of Adobes  new monthly patch cycle, which seems to fall on patch Tuesday for Microsoft  ::)
