I have had had WinRar license for ages, so its just an update. It was cheap so why not, I used to spend much more on gadgets, so I saw no harm in spending on software once in a while if I liked it and supporting its further growth.

I've been using winrar for years now, and all it does is tell you that the trial period is over, but doesn't stop you using it. If the pop up on load annoys you, you can uninstall it and reinstall it

I could not be bothered with doing that, that would be worse than a pop up

I must fire up my Vista laptop. It'll probably take all evening to get the updates, as I haven't turned it on for a few weeks.

I took IE8 simply because since Vista and XP rely on IE so much, I'd rather have a safer version of that browser than IE6 or 7 even if I rarely use it, as far as why they were pushed out mid-cycle thats an odd one $:-\$

Its possible but these ones well at least for me were not really security as such, nothing concerning just compatibility issues

I know the idea of Patch Tuesday was to help the IT crowd deal with the repercussions of patches on a network, but in many ways pushing out patches when they were needed, not once a month was better for the home user
