I saw this on American forum, I don't use it myself. Hope that it's not already been posted.

Noreen

Looks nice so far  :dunno:

Have Opera up and running and seems to be doing a nice job. Anyone else tried the latest version?

Rik

I've never got on with Opera, Q, so haven't bothered.

I haven't seen anyone post it :) Someone has mentioned Opera for the iphone though.
Apple wont allow Opera on the iPhone, Apple think they are gods with Jobs as the leader of all things new and useless that you must buy, its just sad they make great kit, otherwise I would hate them, rather than just loath them.
Damned, if you do damned if you don't

Niall

Exactly how would they stop it? If someone creates it, then it's just a case of putting the app on your phone, surely?

Only if Apple agree to publish it - or the phone is jailbroken.

Well I suppose on one hand it stops malicious apps being made and approved, but on the other it stops freedom to create things, and gives Apple complete control over it all which seems unfair. I'd like to know how they could possibly justify not allowing other browsers. I bet it's so they can say X amount of people use their browser and use it as a bargaining tool for investors.

Its a bit like flash Niall Apple wont allow that, but tbh I dont miss it on the iPhone, I can see why control over a product is a good thing, and they supposedly want you to have the best experience, but you can use what browser you want on OSX, so why not the iPhone, saying that I'm quite happy with Safari on it so I'm not fussed. Apple do like to have a strangle hold though, but so far its done them no harm with the iPhone being the best selling smartphone in 2009 that may well change in 2010 though...

There were updates for Vista too.

Glenn

Strange why there were released, out of step to the normal 2nd week of the month.

I spotted this when I was updating my mums PC. For some reason the program never told me there was an update on my PC, no idea why.

Yeah I've been using it for a long time and it normally lets me know. It didn't this time though, despite no settings changing.
