General software updates

It bugged me at first but I found it was showing me updates well before Windows did. Now I am used to it being there it does not bother me.

really in v3 Rik?  cant say I noticed it.the taskbar icon has changed to orange in this one dont remember that in V3, thats how I noticed it.


still stick with NOD though,I just dont like these little irritating bits that get added.

v3 does the orange bit as well, Baz - at least for me.

Rik, had a look about the settings in NOD and found that in

Setup in the left hand menu then Enter Entire Advanced Setup tree... in the pane that opens, open up Tools then System Updates and then No Updates from the drop down box and it kills that niggle

Checking from within the program (at the moment) says that no update is available however I've downloaded the update from the site.

I like that feature. It's a good reminder if you've forgotten to check for updates. I don't have auto update turned on as I find it interrupts far too often to download something, and can cause games to crash if it does it during a game.

I've found that there was an update for PDF-XChange Viewer, not sure if it's been posted. You can update from within the program. Version: 2.049 Updated on 17 Mar 2010.

this might be a daft question but how do you check for updates in PDF-XChange.never noticed before but I have no toolbar in the main window which might have an update option 

no doubt it'll be something simple and make me look daft

I noticed a java update for firefox popped up today, but firefox blocked it for known stability/security issues. I wish they actually said which one it was, because if it was only stability within firefox and not a security issue, then it could lead to vulnerabilities on the operating system itself
