Another RouterStats Query!

I am currently using a BT Voyager 2110 router and attempting to use RouterStats to monitor the SN Margin.  It appears that the stats page uses Java and thus RouterStats is unable to read the relevant numerical figures. 

Has anyone found a way around this problem, or perhaps aware of any other similar s/ware which might work.  I have tried Googling without success.

The 2110 does seem to hold the line and deal with noise very well (better I believe than my DG834G V2) but I do miss being able to monitor the SN Margin etc..

Any thoughts gratefully received!

According to kitz here, you can just get the stats from the web interface.  Scroll down the page and follow the instructions.

ou7shined  -  Many thanks for the link which I shall investigate.....  It does look very comprehensive!

Nerval  -  Unfortunately finding the stats page in the router interface is the easier bit.  The problem arises due to the stats page using Java for the actual numerical info re SN Margin, Att. etc and thus it is not possible to teach RouterStats to pick up these amounts and display in graphical form etc.  The Routerstats author acknowledges that his (otherwise excellent) software is unable to cope with Java script.  -  Unless anyone can show me otherwise!

Hello

No - I found no way to overcome the Java issue with RouterStats however I am now using the relevant DMT Tool  (http://dmt.mhilfe.de/) which does allow monitoring / saving of screenshots etc over a variable time period.  A very useful piece of software.  After much browsing and Babelfish translation of the forums I have also managed (via Telnet / CLI) to tweak the router SN Margin from about 14db, down to 9db and thus now sync solidly at 8128 / 448.  Unfortunately I can see no reference to any 3Com routers however a quick question on the forum will no doubt clarify that.  It appears to be a matter of the chip used. 

Prior to using the current Voyager 2110 I had for some months used the Netgear DG834G v2 router however I noticed (like many others apparently) that it was prone to have large drops in SN Margin, but then on many occasions fail to regain the original level.

Since using the Voyager and so far monitoring it continuously (every 5 secs) for over 2 days, there is no longer this trait, with only very gradual gains / losses of SNM (within a margin of about 2db over a 24 hr period). 

I rate this Voyager router very highly, particularly as they are widely available on eBay for less than about £30, - with the only real negative point being that there is no logging facility.

Turned out all right in the end then. Nice one.

I'm really kinda attached to my 205 but if it did go fubar I'd certainly check out the 2110.

I have the earlier Voyager 2100, never had a problem in 18 months.
