I've recently started to get the following problem FF 3 when trying to reply to messages, if I select "more" for the additional Smileys when I click the ones I want to use in the popup window the code doesn't appear in the reply box.

They work fine in IE 7 though,  anyone else having this problem or any idea what's causing it?

I haven't moved to FF3, Ray, but perhaps you need to enable popups.

I'm using FF3 and so far no problems like the one mentioned.

Ray

OK I think I've solved it myself after a bit of experimenting, it seems to happen if you close the main FF window but leave the smiley popup window open, if you then reopen FF and go to the forum and try to use the more smileys you don't get any code transferred. Closing the popup and re-opening it seems to reconnect it.

I've not noticed this happening before only the last 2 or 3 days, I'm wondering if it's something peculiar to FF3, can't try it in V2 I've not got it installed at the moment.

I think you can only have one smiley window open for it to work, Ray.

It behaves the same in FF2, Ray.

You need to change your prefs so that the smileys open in a new tab rather than a new window.

Is that in FF or the forum, Alan?

I know, Rik, it's a club nobody wants to be a member of but it seems to be inevitable that you become one eventually.  ::) :)

Dangerjunkie

It works fine for me in FF3 on Linux. Do you have any extension or add-ons installed?

Cheers,
Paul.

And me, Rik, I've got it set to open new pages in a new tab, which it does, but the more smileys always opens in a small new window.  :)

Weird or what ?

In FF3 I open Tools > Options > Tabs - and New pages should be opened in: is the first option and I have a new tab selected and the smilies open in a new tab.

If I change the option to a new window and restart FF3 then the smilies open in a pop-up window.

I can change it at will, so long as I restart FF3 after each change.

The only other TAB addon is Tabscope which has no choices re opening.

TabMixPlus is disabled because it is not compatible with FF3

Rik

Must be a FF3 feature of some sort, Alan, definitely doesn't work in FF2.  :shake:

My FF3 install  pulled it's preferences from an existing FF2  and I think Tabmixplus gave FF2 many tab opening options and i think it has altered a setting in config

Yes, I have downloaded a new version of TMP and it gives the option to load pop-ups in tabs, this must have carried across the upgrade.

The FF3 compatible version is HERE
