I've had a look at the FAQs and guides on the IDNet site and can't see if this is possible.

So, is it possible to set up mail forwarding at a server level (to enable me to redirect IDNet mail to my own, for example, without having to retrieve and then forward at a local level)?

TIA

Steve

If I understand your question,It looks if should be possible to forward mail To me@idnet.com forward to me@mydomain.using the message filters but I cannot get it to work for myself at present whether that's because i have an issue with my email account or its just not working I don't know.

Thanks. That looks like what I was after. I missed it because I was searching around my idnetfreemail account, which doesn't offer filtering. Unfortunately, that's the one I wanted to setup forwarding for :(

You can get mail forwarding on both idnet.com and idnetfreemail.co.uk accounts. For the former, it is set through the user account area and the latter through the GMS webmail interface.

At present, I'm not sure if forwarding is working, but hopefully it should be by tomorrow.

Yep, it's possible that forward isn't back in action yet, but we're hoping it will be tomorrow. :)

Rik

That's what I've been assured.

I have 2 idnet email address's and and a domain hosted one and I cant seem to get mail forwarding working as I want it.As I use IMAP (find it easier with laptop and desktop) and in view of the recent failure of idnet.com I tried this message filter TO me@idnet.com forward mail to me@mydomain,me1@idnet.com. This should give me two copies of mail @idnet.com but I only manage to recieve mail at me@mydomain. Am I trying to achieve the impossible? Is it because me and me1 are on the same server?

When mail is forwarded, Steve, no copies are retained at the original address, at least in my experience. You might want to check that with support, but it's definitely the behaviour I have seen on the forwards I use.

Should there be a space after the comma, i.e. me@mydomain, me1@idnet.com?

Earlier in the year, I too 'couldn't get forwarding to work', even though I was doing everything correctly. In the end, I jumped through plenty of email forwarding hoops, when trying to set up something similar for my mum. I eventually got it working (not without a fair bit of head scratching here on this forum ;D) but not exactly as I wanted it, and with some critical caveats and 'gotchas'! :shake:

May I suggest you cast your eye over this topic, which I posted a while back:

http://www.idnetters.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=7353

and in particular, this post from within that topic:

http://www.idnetters.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=7353.msg155751#msg155751

in which I describe some of the realisations and limitations with IDNet.com email forwarding, that became apparent to me along the way, which may, or may not be applicable to you. Worth being aware of though, before you drive yourself mad setting up/deleting rules multiple times over (as I did) when in fact, in certain circumstances (specifically: present, or even previous address book entries), it'll just *never* work! :rant2: In the case of the latter, it requires a call to the IDNet email guru to get the slate wiped clean!

Good luck!

Thanks - I didn't spot that in the GMS interface. Seems to be working OK now :)

Support replied yesterday. There was a glitch that has now been fixed, multiple mail forwarding is working for me as directed
