Hi,

Just a quick one. I had a bt engineer out to resolve a issue with my phone line. The fault had caused crackling on my phone line and slow BB. Since thats been resolved (yesterday morning) my connection rate has been back up to normal but IP Profile is horribly low. How long should it take for this to recover?

Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test:  -provides background information.
    Your DSL connection rate: 4064 kbps(DOWN-STREAM),  832 kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP profile for your line is - 135 kbps
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 116 kbps

Any info is appreciated.

Hi CB and welcome to the forum. :welc: :karma:

It takes 3-5 days in most cases, but if the engineer logs a cleared fault it can happen faster. Check tomorrow morning.

3-5 days :( How will I survive!?

With a bit of luck you won't have to. :) In theory, blip logic dictates that a big change should work through very quickly, however my experience is that, if the profile has been depressed for a while, this just doesn't happen. What I would hope, though, is that the engineer marked a cleared fault and your profile will be picked up overnight by BT and allowed to rise to the correct level.

An IP profile of 135k suggests there has been some serious stability. Keep an eye on the sync dropping. Otherwise, the profile should return to normal in 3-5 days. :)

Looks like it hasn't been pushed through manually, then, hopefully you'll see an improvement on Tuesday. :(
