Hello again!

Considering moving back over to either a home max product or the new supermax product.

Currently with enta - who are currently awaiting a new pipe, which is to come within the next week to a month or possibly over (its down to BT) - but with packetloss at 10% and speeds at 5.5kb/s at peak times, waiting is rather un-attractive.

So, is all still ok at idnet?

- Support wise
- Speeds wise
- Stability wise

Pings no longer matter to me, just as long as things are stable!

Thanks

EDIT: oh, and can any one remind me that if im with a IPStream prem product now...would i have to move over to Idnet's equiv? (Supermax)

Perfect for me...  ;)
Anything and everything that I post on here is purely my opinion, it ain't going to change the world, you are under no obligation to agree with me, it is purely my expressed opinion.

Into my second month now, and another Crapnet refugee.
Connection fast and stable.
Able to get torrents at 500kBps any time day or night.
There was a nebulous problem with authentication lasted about a week, but fixed and OK now.  And I gather from the PN forum they had the same thing.  Never got to the bottom of what was going on, but then so much in life is a mystery to me.

So that's a Yes.

Don't now if you've GOT to move to supermax, but suspect not.
Ring them and ask for the definitive answer.

Hi Avenger ,

Heres a L8NC graph , its not a recent one as my connections been stable so i haven't bothered  checking.

Pings settled right down just after you left and have been rock solid ever since (not rubbing it in m8 its a fact)

Does this mean we can get our Call of Duty server running again    :out:

I know, it seems a black cloud follows me wether i move to!

"Cod server" - maybe :)

after reading the idnet forum here (recent posts) & adslguide (which is very boring if i may say so! - not a problem to read) it looks like ill be coming back. Proberbly contact simon (or whoever is on the end of the line) later to find out about if ive got to choose a service the same as my current.

AvengerUK

yup - got my mac code any ready to come over! Interestingly the central @ enta im current on is currently status black...in other words bt's router is "policing" the pipe, which means many pakets are returned! - the sooner i leave the better!

Yep AG is Boring and  Linc  is one of the most irritating people i have met in a long time ;)

I migrated from Entanet on the 20/11/2006.

At times "dial-up" was quicker due to their problems and I bailed out as I really felt I could not wait until the end of December for matters to be sorted out. I really feel their troubles were brought on by themselves by expanding so quickly.

I had some speed problems with IDNet on the 28/11/2006 and contacted "CS" and the problem was sorted within 3 days: I just hope IDnet carry on the way they are.

- Definatly, id stay with them - but its obvious that their management aint as good as you'd expect!

"f people are wondering why things are getting so busy on Entanet, think about the 9500 people who were affected by V21/Biscit/Netservices issue. A lot of them didn't go over to EzeeDSL. Also, there were at least 1500 people who were affected by the Fast24/Netservices issue, many of whom didn't go over to EzeeDSL either. Then there are those who were connected through freebie or almost freebie providers who found out that you get what you pay for. A lot of them have or are in the process of moving providers. In the last few weeks, a lot of people have moved provider due to issues with their old providers. Entanet is a very attractive ISP with some very appealing deals. Although I was quoted 6 days to get me back online (completely new activation, as Netservices wouldn't give out MACs, so had to wait for the connection to be ceased and the tag removed from my line), Entanet got me back on in 3 days. Expect some ZEN people to move over too, now that they've been limited to 100gbs per month. "

Although that could have something to do with it (taken from "entachoice" forums) - doesent change the fact im abondoning the enta ship mind!

If you download a lot, then IDnet is far more expensive.

As I do not, this does not matter to me; all I want is a fairly steady speeds which I know is problem with "max adsl". If things got too bad, I would drop back to a fixed speed.

I use around 5GB per month - so no problem there!

Grrrr...still waiting for my MAC lol - it ran out yesterday (my order failed, cs sorted it today though! just need to resubmit..) its automatic so it SHOULD of come....are bts systems to issue a mac automatic also or is it human controlled? :P

AvengerUK

QuoteBT have not yet supplied it.

I'll ask Enta to chase however BT's systems occassionally fail and require
manual intervention which wont be possible until Monday.
