I gotta laugh or I'll cry. The i bet setting up wireles will be a nightmare - things that are supposed to be easy are a nightmare for me.. I'm jinxed lol

Here is my tail of woe:

Since returning from Spain on 17th July:

1) Someone tried to hack one of my credit cards which was then suspended. Loads of hassle with MBNA (at a weekend of course). Finally sorted after hours on hold and new card delivered.

2) Order to Carphone Warehouse Online for £20 PAYG phone cancelled by them, without explanation. It transpires that our postcode has bought too many phones in the last three months  :groan:

3) Ordered an (in stock) electric razor from Tesco Direct. After three days they tell me there is a 'pick error' and they don't really have any in stock.

4) MNBA exchange possible fraud information with other credit card companies. Now I am constantly being phoned by automated systems asking me to confirm minor £2.50 purchases.

5) The car I drove all the way back from Spain has now developed a small hole in the radiator. Whilst trying to order one to fit myself it seems that my VW Golf engine number doesn't fit with the chassis number. I own a car (from new) that was never produced.

6) My wife cannot find her cheque book. She thinks she has left it on her computer desk in Spain, although she had no reason to take it there in the first place.

7) I live in a paper bag in't middle of a pond. (Python).

Going back to Spain in six days. Can't wait for the hassle to stop.

That's a very strange reason to give, JB.  ???

I hope Spain brings happier times.

I had that from the Carphone Hell house, possibly the worst company to buy anything off due to their very interesting views on the sales of goods act (they try and ignore it) I was banned in the end after calling trading standards in the middle of the shop after demanding a refund for a faulty sim free phone that was two days old, they were refusing to give my wife the cash back, just offering different phones instead, best avoided in my view, if you want a contract go to the actual providers shop, or buy sim free elsewhere. They also do not give you a two week cooling off period as most providers do with a new contract, they just make you swap provider if you cannot get a signal, thankfully Orange run their own contracts so if that ever happens and you want out from the CPW, swap to orange within two weeks, then you can cancel the contract there and then after taking it out, oh the looks on their faces when I did that >:D.
Damned, if you do damned if you don't

What is the date of the referendum for England to become an independent country ?

Tina

It was royal mail, it says leaves it 28 hours, but my mate said it will be there before that.. dunno

Glenn

It should be back in the sorting office waiting for you to collect in the morning

Really ? Do you think so? They said leave it 28 hours. It's a long journey to town, and don't want a wasted journey. Anyhow I can't go  until the little lappy has come :) That is coming between 9-12 noon will go and collect it then, and maybe try a hotspot at Macdonalds on the lappy lol .My friend is going to come with me :)

Rik

With Royal Mail, it's usually only a couple of hours, Diss, unless you're a very long way from the sorting office. I agree with Glenn, it should be there in the morning for you.

Good luck with the trip. :)

Only in the most extreme circumstances are RM staff allowed to keep packages off RM property overnight, it is seen as a serious disciplinary matter if it is done without authorisation.

Phone the Delivery Office in the morning before you go

well I am writing this on my new little laptop :) It's ok. It only has a a screen res of 800x whatever, so you have to scroll across on some sites. other then that the biggest thing for me is getting used to the touch pad instead of a mouse.
I went to collct the router and it had set the redelivery ib the morning  so using it on my wired modem :)

Rik

Don't you just love it when they listen to you. :(

Glad the laptop is OK, Diss.  :thumb:

to be honest I don't think I could cope with setting up wireless today- going out was enough :( and setting this up :)

Rik

I know how you feel. You'll find wireless is really a lot easier than it sounds, but you know where to come and ask if you need any help. :)
