BT injects life into its network

Insights from artificial life could soon be helping run BT's networks.

The telecommunications firm wants to give its networks life-like abilities so they can self-regulate, recover from injury and respond to changing demands.

Surely these artificial life forms will run around and just decide to shut the who BT network down as its so cr@p while they try and fix it, realise it can't be and move on to the outside world via workmen who get infected by them

That would give them no room to charge customers £160 when they say its your fault, not their ageing copper wire Sebby, and it would cost way to much, after all they still want nice big fat wage packets don't they, cant jeopardise that just to make the system better
