I have a spare (2 actually) 2700 i may throw it in sometime soon to test it.

Rik

It would be interesting to see how they compared, Dean.

If you have 832kbs up does that pinch bandwidth off the downstream on marginal lines?

g7pkf

no as its based at the lower end of the freq spectrum.

if you have a2700 or router that diplays a graph the upload is the LHS bit.

between 0-32.

Dean

taken the plunge and asked for interleaving to be switched off.

g7pkf

only real differance is the increased snr, which as you know means less speed but more reliability on a noisy line (like mine)

the sbc used to dropout about once a week with a 500K increase in speed.

to my knowledge unless i reboot the singtel (or power cut or BT) it has never dropped

Rik

Sounds a good reason to stick with it then, Dean.

The only thing that worries me about putting on the Singtel firmware is that I won't ever be able to revert back.

Rik

The thing that worries me about it is that I keep thinking of American prisons when I hear the name. ;)

Have had interleaving switched off and wow waht a differance, the voip calls are a little better but my ping times have nearly halved.

yesterday (at this time ) bbc averaged 44ms today it's 21.

;D

Rik

Sounds about right, Dean. Is stability OK?

Since they changed at 3am this morning no no disconnections.

and the trains are running.  ;D

I will be keeping a close eye on it.

and post result's

speed is same as yesterday on a 2500 profile about 2100ish (bt tester)

Rik

Well, it's half a problem solved, I guess. You'd better finish the extension and move, Dean. ;D :out:

Are they the ones that are verging on tipping over as they go under bridges? :out:
