I assume you mean the nontechie bit?

I have found in the past if you do not allow them to follow there scripts they get all shirty.

Best to play the idiot and let them determine & diagnose the fault. Gives them a sense of purpose.

g7pkf

Don't you just love automated responses?

Thanks for contacting us.  We take all complaints very seriously and we'll do whatever we can to put things right for you.

You don't need to reply to this automatic message.  We have received higher volumes of emails than we normally do, which means it's taking us longer than we want to reply to you.  We're sorry about this and will provide a full response as soon as we can.

Sebby

I hope you get somewhere this time, Dean. :fingers:

Good way to approach it, Dean. Now all you need is someone who knows what they're doing to take a look at the line.

What really gauls me is i just set up my sisterinlaw up with o2 (BE)

her speeds are amazing 10Mb down 1MB up she downloads at about 900Kish

and pays 12.50 a month unlimited allowance (FUP comes in BUT)

yes they port block but for surfing and downloading its really fast-and she lives 2miles from the exchange as the crow flies.

Living in a village has its real downsides.

Rik

There are upsides too, Dean, it's just trying to find the balance. ;)

I wouldn't live in a town at any price.

Just move a bit closer to the exchange..  ;)

To be totally hones i am totally F^CK^*D off with AR***Hole Telecom (formally BT).

sorry if the above offends anyone i do not normally swear on forums.

I think we should all go back to carrier pidgeon. (at least they were cute-like Buzby)

They are totally ignoring me keep telling me my line is ok and within spec BUT several times in the conversation the lady said sorry can you repeat that you are very quiet.....I cjhanged phones after the first comment...........

I am seriously annoyed.........

BT are going to get a serious call tommorrow.......

the broadband speed is cr*p the call quality is quiet and crackly (especially in wet weather) and to top it all customer service is dire.

now i feel better, Thank you

Lance

Maybe an email to the top will help - but I can't remember the new blokes name at the moment.  :)

O2/be block port 25 so you have to use their smtp server, that's it, I'm with them and I get great speeds and more stability on a BT line than plain adsl, O2/BE'S Adsl2+ LLU is great, BT could do the same its the only reason I went to O2/Be as I had line dropping issues. BT just seem to care about one thing as all monopolies do, and that's the pockets getting deeper and having to spend less, with 21cn network slipping and costs mounting I think the situation will only get worse, they can only spread themselves so thin on the ground after all
Damned, if you do damned if you don't

Bt are coming tommorrow

should i be sad or glad?

Rik

Be like the Dave Clark Five, Dean, glad all over. ;D
