ERR AVG POP3 Proxy Server: Cannot connect to the mail server!             ???

Lance

No problems here, Jill. It might just be a temporary blip in your email client, I suggest restarting it if you haven't already!

Nor here. I wonder if it's an AVG issue. Have you tried rebooting your computer?

Still the same
Quote-ERR AVG POP3 Proxy Server: Cannot connect to the mail server!

I can send but not receive, authorization for my account has failed  :eyebrow:

Rik

Check your AVG settings, Jill, or turn of email scanning briefly (if you can) and see if it then works. The error appears to be generated by AVG, so that's the first place to look.

I tried that before I posted, didn't make any difference  :shake: I mostly use MSN, that always works  :)

Rik

If you've checked all your settings locally, you'll have to talk to support who can look at what's happening when you try to logon.

I would check your account settings in Outlook/OE or whatever you use. Perhaps it's got changed by AVG - I remember Norton used to have a habit of doing this.

How dare you put AVG in the same paragraph as Norton..  ;D

Nothing has changed  :)

Might be worth checking email settings in AVG Jill.

Open AVG click  'Tools'   and  'Advanced settings'  click  'E-mail Scanner' + sign. click  'Servers' + sign.
click  'POP3'  + sign.  click 'Autopop3'  Make sure there's a tick in the   'Activate this Server'  box.    :fingers:
