Is anyone else seeing poor speeds? Unusually, on my 7150 rock steady profile, I logged 1391 on BT Speedtester at 6pm today. I am always high 6000's. First hop ping is also unusual at 40ms. My interleave is typically low 20s. Looks/feels like congestion because speed profile during download is very spikey. I would be very surprised indeed if this is an IDNET issue and my local exchange has hitherto been really good. Is the Olympics clogging the works?

Pings look normal here, though one to the BBC timed out (1 of 4), other sites are OK, throughput is right for my profile.

It could be the Olympics producing extra traffic - have you checked your exchange status?

Looked at Sam for my exchange and can't see any problems. I this the best page to look at?

The expression is chained, Dave. ;D

You could try http://usertools.plus.net/exchanges/ but the data is often out of date due to BT being tardy.

I take it your profile was still OK today? If so, it's got to be congestion somewhere. If it's still with you on Monday, let support know and they can run some tests.

Similar problems here. A BT speedtest at 5.30pm showed a throughput of 825kbps with my usual 7150 profile.

A router reboot and resync immediately solved the problem, and I've been over 6mbps since.

So all is back to normal here......thought had better put the record straight  ;D

I rebooted my router per your suggestion and we are back in business. 6763 versus 570 before and after, using the Think broadband tester, which is always more pessimistic than BT. Could be coincidence, but on the other hand could just be gremlins. We learn something every day.
