Fake CNN alerts

My Yahoo UK Mail account is getting loads of these CNN Alerts, Yahoo is putting them in the Spam folder. http://www.itworld.com/news/54157/fake-cnn-spam-mutates-attacks-continue

I get those too, Rik, plus others making promises of extensions which would be impossible to implement.

I'm getting loads too, Noreen.  MailWasher deals with them.  In fact, I'm thinking of closing my Yahoo mail account, as I don't use it for anything.

My Yahoo got one today, (probably got more now).  It was sent straight to the spam box.

I've been getting several of these each day for the last week or so, mine seem to be coming via my Idnet freemail account though.

I just had one fake email that had missed the yahoo spam filters from Xowe Hoqemix saying order confirmation like i'm going to open that, such a convincing name straight into the spam folder.

Even the spammers are taking human rights seriously.

 I get virtually no spam since I joined Idnet. Certainly none for Viagra or the like.  What have I done wrong? Why are the spammers leaving alone, what have I done to deserve this? I call this discrimination of the worst kind.

I got another five CNN Alerts on Yahoo this morning, among others of course. I've never had any spam with my IDNet addresses. I only use the latter for personal emails, for all "official" type emails I always use Yahoo which is probably why I get the spam there.

My spam always seems to be on my domain or Google, Noreen. The idnet.com addresses are remarkably clean, other than the forum contact address, which obviously we have to publish, so that gets hit.

On my Plusnet email address I have received new spam emails with the header

msnbc.com - BREAKING NEWS: How to save money on gas

The text after breaking new can be different on mine it was "I am been sued"   

I have yet to receive any spam off my Idnet address. 

This is new after Plusnet put a fix in place Monday night to stop the CNN spam.............

Yup.. the CNN ones have been replaced by the MSNBC ones.  Funny though, Eudora didn't send the CNN ones to spam so I made a filter to take care of it myself but the MSNBC ones it knows are junk.  Maybe it's the microsoft word it sees and knows must be junk..

We need an "internet driving licence".  The test would require you to demonstrate that you're fully aware that parts of your body are never going to grow any bigger, no matter what drugs you take, that you understand that there might be more than meets the eye to kind businessmen from Nigeria who seem very keen to give you astronomical amounts of cash, and that you know that attractive young ladies don't spontaneously send you pictures of themselves naked because they want to be friendly.

Just noticed this thread. I started getting these emails via my website email, about 2 weeks ago. 90% of them are getting caught by the filter, but about 10 a day are still getting through. This new windows live doesn't seem to have decent filters that I can see

I use it for mobile email for friends as I get free email pused to my phone if i go out, and thats rare as you know , In. But I have enough email addresses as it is and my domain works well, and to be honest IDNets iron clad servers are better than anything you get free from an ISP

Genie sims had so many advantages with free things as well, those were the days
