Orange go mouldy

Looks like the mass exodus from Oranges broadband product continues, Orange seem to claim its by design so they can sort out there network :eyebrow: losing customers to fix issues is a novel approach. Story here.

But taken to its logical conclusion Gary when they have no more customers left then they'll not have any more problems  ;D

As an Ex-Orange customer I think I am qualified to say they were liers then and from what I can see they still are.  Anybody who has been with Orange would never go back for any of their services, even if it were free, it's just too much hassle.

As an Ex- Orange customer I could not agree with you more, for me the crowning glory of incompetent support was when I was told my slow speeds were because I was on dialup, on a pc with no modem using a router with their 2mb package as I could not get over that on my line, so ADSL Max was not an option, when I was with IDNet I attained 3.5mb! ::) I very shortly left after that call with Orange

I used to loose my connection every night at 6 pm, Orange support told me it was the fault of my central heating switching on, their suggested cure--   Don't use INTERNET after 6 pm or switch of the heating when I do.  Needless to say when I joined IdNet my speed went up, I I've never lost a connection :fingers: and my house is warmer.

Thats exactly when they tried me on ADSL MAX my drop outs stared :eyebrow: they could not blame anyone because they never did a line test, just kept promising but after every 24/48 hour gap it was never done, also I was amazed at the number of gentlemen in India called Nigel ;) a familiar name did not make up for a conversation that was hard to understand, one operative changed my name to Mary, because Gary and Mary sound so alike, and ordered me three modems I didn't need ::) Ok I cannot speak their language so hats off to them for trying, but Orange really were the pits with customer support.

I confess I was once with Orange, though in mitigation I would plead that they weren't called Orange when I joined. They only showed any interest in my problems when I requested my MAC, but it was too late for me by then.

Actually it's this comment in response to one which said that 'all isps are cr*p' which is the most accurate.  In particular the last sentence..

So you are saying that only good broadband should be available to a select few who are well off enough to pay for it, and that the masses can suffer with what they have, am I actually getting that right or is there a mistake here? Everyone who pays from it be £6.50 to tiscali of whatever it costs to Zen should have a reliable service, if you suggest only the select can have it, and others do not deserve it, isn't that rather unfair, it smacks of elitism and the kind of attitude that gets the rich richer and makes everyone else's life a misery. No matter what you pay and, especially for those that have no technical knowledge they still should get a good service no matter what their ISP and pricing them out of the market to keep your bandwidth clear seems somewhat of a colonial attitude in this day and age, I mean damn the blighter's they can surely kill a goat, no need to go hungry, as you ladle another portion of gluttony on your plate, after all, plenty more where that came from :mad:

That's not how I read it, Gary. Tac was supporting the suggestion that those who want to download the entire internet need to pay for the privilege.
