Hi All

There have been some reports of slower speeds during peak hours this week. Although nothing like last week (during the Olympics) and only affecting a relatively small number of our users, after further investigation it appears that these slower speeds for some could be due to some bottlenecks identified in our network on one of our centrals which is close to reaching it's capacity. We're busy making the appropriate measures to alleviate these bottlenecks. In the meantime, if you are experiencing unacceptable levels of service, please still contact support as it may be unrelated and we will investigate accordingly for you.

There is also new capacity on it's way. We ordered our new Gigabit Host Link into BT's 21st Century Network back in April - with a lead time of 65 days. Unfortunately BT have severely delayed our order and it is now scheduled to be connected on November 4th. This new link will also allow us to start offering ADSL2+  (providing up-to-24Mbps) services to customers connected to enabled exchanges. We will provide an up-to-date list of enabled exchanges closer to the time.

How soon can we expect the current bottlenecks to be relieved, Tim?

Hi Simon

We aim to reduce the bottlenecks as soon as possible over the next few days.
