Post by: khyron on Jan 20, 2007, 21:01:16
My broadband has just died around 4pm on Friday. No DSL light even on my modem.
Still no joy today, and i cant find any thing to suggest there is a problem on the BT or IDNet website.
Area 0114 Exchange- Attercliffe Sheffield

What is going on????

It could be one of many things, have you tried disconnecting any filters along with the attached phone / Sky Box etc.

Your exchange is showing as RED but this should only cause speed problems not a total loss of service.
As Inactive said you need to first find out if there is a problem your end , if you phone CS they will probably tell you to run a new extension directly from the modem to the master socket with the filter removed, this was the advice i was given when i lost my connection.
If this fails to get you connected then you will need to borrow a modem and connect it with the extension set up as above , if this fails you  can tell CS  its not your end and they can take it from there.
