Sorry, Barndog, your post may have been missed due to some other 'goings on' this afternoon, but hopefully, with this bump, someone will be along to help soon.  :)

Hi m8

What do you mean by hearing people?

If you mean in game it would depend if voip is activated on the server, and if you have it turned on in settings. (plus they would have to be talking to start with )

Other thing is Teamspeak or Ventrillo which are seperate voice comms, if you mean those then you need to d/load the respective client programs and then log into the respective channels.

Have you tried asking on a dedicated CoD forum like http://www.codhq.com/ ?

Are you using a USB hadset and mic, or do you plug directly into your soundcard mini jacks?  Do you get any in-game sound at all?

One of our members has had similar problems with a USB set in that he cant use Teamspeak while CoDW@W is running.

If yo go to http://www.ventrilo.com/ and download & install the appropriate client program, there should be an option somewhere within the software to connect to the server. That is where you will enter the ip adress Myst has given. It is a seperate programme from the actual game and runs completely independantly.

The IP you have there is one of the game servers not the vent channel m8

If you did mean how to add that server the best way is to download HLSW from www.hlsw.net.
Install it then copy and post that IP addy into it, (straightforward to where it goes) it will then show the game info. you can then right click and enter game.
You can add any amount of server addresses in there - helpful to see when folk are playing.

As for ventrillo - download it, once installed go in set up and again copy the vent.killercreation.co.uk in the address and then 19311 in the port box.

To connect to a server IP in the game, you need to access the consol.  To do this, start the game in multiplayer and go to the internet page, (find game) and refresh it.  It lists all servers world wide after a few minutes. Now press the tild key ` at the top left hand of your keyboard.  You will see a small "command line" open up at the top of the screen.  Type connect 81.19.219.120:28961 and as long as that server exists, you should connect to it :-)

For the game sounds, have you tried using a headset and mic that plugs directly into your sound card with mini jacks?
