I've had a good search through the forum but can't seem to find what I am looking for.
A month or two back there was a discussion about a couple of Windows upgrade files that were causing problems and one of the solutions was to install them manually. I'm just bringing my 'sammy' up to date but for the life of me can't find the posting with the two KBxxxxxxxxx numbers in it.
Can anyone remember the files concerned or even the thread that it was discussed in.
Many thanks,
I suspect the General Software updates thread, JB, I'm just having a browse.
Is this it?

I don't think so Rik, but thanks for looking. I went right back in that thread but no KB numbers mentioned.
The thread I'm thinking of identified the two numbers that people were have trouble with. Ironically, I followed the procedure on my machine in Spain but can't remember the thread that contained the reference.
I'll keep searching. If I can't find the thread I will be able to see the two update files on my computer when I'm back in Spain in two weeks time. I'll be taking the Sammy with me :)
I'll have another look...
Was it this one, JB?

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/current.aspx has them listed by month
Thanks for the list Glenn. I don't think I can recall the two files from the descriptions.
Rik, it wasn't the .NET upgrade, just a couple of normal fixes I think.
I think I'll do a TI backup first and then give it a go automatically, but thanks for your help.
Sorry I can't find the right posts, JB. :(

I think this was it. :)
Thanks, Seb, that was part 1 of the thread that I did remember, but couldn't find, so I posted part 2. :)
I can only find things when I remember who started the thread and one key word. :)
I know just what you mean. The forum search is a bit of a blunt instrument...
It is, but then so are a lot of forums. I prefer to use Google advance search.
I've never thought to try that.
Don't be so hard on yourself. :P
I wasn't, that was your head I was hitting. ;D
Just a quick thank you to everyone for your help in searching for these updates.
NP. :)
