any one got any ideas on this. recently have been trying to use this and it just wont start 1st time. from the short cut I get the busy icon for a few seconds then it stops and the program doesnt start try again and I get a very quick glimpse of the main window then it shuts instantly.Trying from the start/all programs way does the same.If i perceiver it will start after 5 or 6 attempts.
yesterday I tried to update after someone said there was one available, got the data base updates but not the main program.i uninstalled the one I had then went for a fres install of the latest version tried it after the install and it is the same results.
Its as if some thing is shutting it down straight away :dunno: :dunno:
Run a full virus scan, Baz, both with your resident scanner and one of the online programs.
Yes, it could be something preventing SAS from starting up. You could try it in safe mode. :)
Or run a HijackThis, and see what going on

I noticed a similar effect on my wife's computer after the latest SAS update a day or so ago. Both the program files and spyware database were updated. After a reboot it seems to have settled down but I still get the impression that the program runs as if it is hogging resources.
I'm pretty sure her machine is clean and is fully up to date with Windows Updates and the latest Avast virus definitions. SuperAntiSpyware has only ever found tracking cookies on her machine and nothing more serious.
Hi - I gave SAS the top recommendation over at TSA, but I've had reports of problems with Windows 7 - so if you are running the beta that's it.
I asked the author, and a Win 7 compatible version is imminent (within 30 days).

Perhaps the people here can help. http://forums.superantispyware.com/
well I dont know what it is. did the same again when I just tried then on the 4th attempt it opened ok but took about 20 seconds and takes the same time on each opening after that
virus check done when i first got the prob and it was ok.No malware/spyware too
Baz, are you running Windows 7 or an earlier OS?
My wife's computer is running Win XP SP3 and this latest upgrade takes about 20 seconds to open.
im on XP too
You could try removing the program, removing the program folder if its left, and and subfolders in application data, then do a regedit and delete the registry entries from HKEY_CURENT_USER open the tree expand software and delete the registry entry for superantispyware and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and do the same again. you can also use find, tick the box for the whole string, and type in find Superantispyware and do it that way. There are many other entries for superantispyware but deleting just the ones above should help.
My feeling is that it is something in the upgrade. Hopefully it might be fixed shortly.
Did you look at that forum?

I'm not sure if Baz has yet but I had a look. There is talk of an incompatibility between the latest SAS updates and a recent MS Update. I gather SAS are looking into it.
I hear they've passed it to the Paras to deal with, JB. ;D
no sorry Noreen I didnt thanks for the link though. I may just leave it a while seen as other people get the same problem may be a fix for it soon
