Its finally about to arrive, loved the previous version for Mail in 10.5, if you want to try this early version see http://www.daneharnett.com/widemail/
So that would be for messages in landscape format, presumably, Steve? ;D
Mac mail's preview window is below the header listing, There are 2 apps Letterbox and Widemail which place this window at the side similar to Outlook, both these apps were incompatible with SL 10.6.2 .Letterbox for SL was beta released some time ago and this is the first viewing of Widemail for SL. Why Apple do not set this up I've no idea especially as the monitors are now universally widescreen.
I must admit it does not bother me to much, I use webmail so much these days, but Mac Mail could do with an overhaul, it would be nice for the new message window to stay put each time you send mail rather than move down and to the right if you send multiple emails as well.
I've been using Letterbox beta 5 for a while now, but I did used to use Widemail on Leopard. What's the difference?
If I recall Widemail for 10.5 allowed more customisations than letterbox such as the ability to hide or display dates, the addition of vertical columns and some colour choice options. I am not sure if I will try it at this early stage I would like to see a few more comments on the blog first,it was popular (nearly said widely used )so it should hopefully progress.
