Getting long delays (>30 mins) on the idnet.com account... spam attack again?
I agree Bill just sent two to idnet.com nothing yet
I don't seem to be receiving any emails since about 3pm!
I've had one or two since then, but all delayed by at least ten minutes... I hadn't noticed.
I have logged into the webmail and no new emails.
So sent a test email from gmail to ident, not received.
Sent a test email from ident to gmail, received at gmail. Replied to that email. Nothing at ident.
Anyone else having problems?
I'm waiting for two long emails from my girlfriend... so yes, problems
Mine seems fine from one IDNet account to another, but there seems to be a delay in receiving mail from an outside domain. I'll email support, but I doubt they'll respond until the morning.
Thanks Simon
Another one here not getting mail through. Seems ok to send within the idnet.com domain, but nothing from outside is getting through.
Must say that idnet mail has never been particularly reliable, as they do seem to get more than their share of spam attacks.
Still no email through and nothing in webmail. :(
Hopefully we will have some details in an hour or so.
Someone must have given the server a kick, seems to be working now

I've started to get stuff through as well. Anyone any idea of what the problem was?
[Edit to answer my own question] Just got the RSS status feed through and I quote:-
"There was a problem with incoming @idnet.com email overnight, all of the queued mail should be delivered within the next hour.
Due to the increased amount of spam attacks we are currently in the process of commissioning more powerful mx and filtering servers to improve the overall email service".
Yup, coming in here too :)
Spam filter problems, resolved now. :)
Anyone else still having problems?
I'm waiting for two emails, one from ESET for my NOD32 antivirus licence and one for confirmation of some tickets I've purchased - neither have come through, despite being able to email myself from my Gmail account. Nothing in the junk folder in Thunderbird or Webmail.
No problems here, I'm afraid, and I had an Eset licence update today. :dunno:

Me too, oddly. Is it NOD32 renewal month or something? :D
It must be, Niall. That's me for the next three years.
The ticket order confirmation has come through at least but still nothing from Eset...
At least I know it's not an IDNet problem!
It shouldn't be treated as spam if Niall and I got the licences, might be worth phoning Eset tomorrow.
My e-mail has been very haphazard most of the week, the only consistent e-mails I recieve is junk from "ROOT USER" about 300 times a day offering Cialis, when I try to login to IDNET to change my span filter settings, the whole website goes belly up at the login stage.
Is anybody else getting these e-mails or login errors please?
No to both, Mo. I take it you've done a full virus and malware scan?

CONFIRMED.
Customer login page hangs till it times out.
Email is NOT arriving and has been dubious all week. I reset account details on 3 vBulletin forums, the server sends a confirmation email instantly ........... the emails never arrived.
I'll let support know.

Rik,
I am very fussy about Spyware and Junk e-mail and run daily scans and message rules for e-mail etc, so I am pretty sure it is nothing on my PC causing the problems. I did wonder if it was because I was using Adobe's latest flash player ( 64 Bit ) causing the Login problems with IDNET?.
The Junk e-mail is getting ridiculous, today the regularity has increased to every 20 minutes, the same e-mail over and over. Message rules to bounce to sender have no effect.
I've checked the website and the status page and customer portal are both down.
Email, otoh, for me, is fine, both idnet.com -> idnet.com and from my domain to idnet.com.

As I say, the website does seem to have issues now, Mo, and I've alerted IDNet. Email, otoh, is working just fine. I'd suggest a call to support on Monday as they really need to look at your setup.
My email seems fine, although I don't use my IDnet email for anything so I never get an email :D

I read some time ago that 'bouncing' emails sometimes backfires, as clever spammers can detect that the bounce is 'false', and that the email account is actually live. This could explain why the instances have increased. I use Mail Washer, but simply delete spam off the server, instead of 'bouncing' it.
A bit like responding to ICMP traffic.
