Downloaded and successfully installed, only have it connected to my Laptop for backups though as you need to remove the old connector software for WHS 1.

WHS Vail is very different and now has the look and feel of Windows 7 and integrates into the Homegroup if you are running W7, the installation is much more reliable and slick than the prevoius version.

On the client computer the old Homeserver Console has gone and has been replaced by a Dashboard that can be run full screen or any size you want like a normal window, looks a potentially good OS when it is finished.

Does it wipe the data drive? I may try it on a different PC to my server anyway.

Yes it does, Glenn, and it needs at least a 160GB drive to install on, I've put it on one of my old XP machines that I no longer use.

I've just built a new PC, so apart from a case & HDU, I could use the old parts.

Looks like this release needs to be used with caution as data loss is a possibility.

Got it installed and running on my test machine now, seems to have been a lot of changes from the previous version especially to the Dashboard.

Do we know when it's due for non beta release?

I read November time. That was going by the beta release date, and the time MS took over the current versions beta period.

The current version is working happily in the background at the moment, so I'm in no rush.
