Title: FTTC - Before & after
Post by: zappaDPJ on May 14, 2010, 19:27:13
One of the benefits of FTTC is obviously throughput but I'm also interested to see what impact line quality has on the service as information in that regard is still very hard to come by. I'd be very grateful if anyone contemplating switching could take the time to give their router stats, a BT speedtest and a tracert to idnet.net before and after connecting to the new service.

Thanks :)

I can do the before Zap, but the after may take a few months.

Good idea though, to monitor the changes that take place.

I'll certainly be doing that, Zap. Stability will be another interesting issue.

It should be totally stable as there is no way for noise/interference to affect the cable.

I'm sure BT will come up with a way, Dorset. ;D

There can still be noise on the loop between your house and the cab though Dorset.
