Title: Slow web pages
Post by: c1hundred on Oct 14, 2010, 19:29:31
Hi

Since the outage on Sunday evening I am still experiencing some pages that are very slow to load or fail to load.

An example would be linkedin (www.linkedin.com) this takes a very long time to come up and then only with the bare text and links (all the graphics are missing)

Tried this on several PCs and both ie8 and firefox
Also tried rebooting the router.

01296 Aylesbury exchange.

Any ideas?

It's ok for me,suggest flushing the browser cache and also the Windows dns cache i.e ifconfig flush all from command prompt.

I think steve means "ipconfig /flushdns" (ifconfig is linux!)

If these don't help, what does pinging these 'slow' sites look like? Any packet loss?

Have you tried a BT Speedtest? if it's working.

Yep results are about usual -

Download speedachieved during the test was - 2946 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speedsis 1200-4000 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :0 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 0 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 3000 Kbps
The throughput of Best Efforts (BE) classes achieved during the test is - 12.39:22.7:64.91 (SBE:NBE:PBE)
These figures represent the ratio while sententiously passing Sub BE, Normal BE and Priority BE marked traffic.

The results of this test will vary depending on the way your ISP has decided to use these traffic classes.

Tracert doesn't look bad for an American server.  :dunno:
