Title: iPhone email
Post by: Niall on Jul 27, 2011, 13:43:35
Not sure where to post this, so here I am.

I've always read my emails from IDNet (monthly bill, support, etc) via my iPhone for convenience. For some reason I'm suddenly getting a message saying the document was not downloaded from the server. Within the email it has a tab to download the rest of this message (0 bytes).

Anyone know what's going on? In case it's relevant I have the first 3 emails readable I a stack of 7. The rest are broken. They are all fine via the webpage, but I've forgotten my login details as I'm at work, so can't check my last two replies from support :(

That happens occasionally to me, but usually, when it's a larger than usual email.

Moved to Mobiles board, by the way.  :)

I'm not sure, but is it the case one of the emails is in a format the phone does not like?
Email clients have a bad habit of not skipping broken emails, and instead stopping the entire client, and leaving your online inbox full. :/

I think it's file size. I asked a lad in work and he has the same problem, but oddly his is via gmail on his iphone. I've looked on the webmail now and it must be a file size limitation on the iphone as each reply has the CC of the last message in it, so that would make sense. I'll have a look to see if there's an option on the iphone to sort that out.

I would be surprised if it is file size. I've had it happen once but can't remember the circumstances.
