Title: Is it normal to have (brief) outages on my ADSL every week?
Post by: Dan on Oct 23, 2011, 21:58:26
Sort of curiosity this.

I seem to get a lot more temporary outages these days than a year ago - happens 4 or 5 times a week (usually grouped together on a couple of days in the week) and feels like every Sunday (tho I know it's not). They're only brief outages but my line didn't used to behave like this.

Is this normal?

Or is it a sign that something is damaged? Is it worth reporting to Support? I mean, other than logging each time it happens, unless there was a known fault at IDNet or with BT I don't expect to get anywhere.

I wouldn't say it's normal the possible causes are multiple from issues your side of the master socket to BT network outages/work . Your router stats and BT speedtest are good places to start for local issues, and support should have details of any network issues
