Title: UDP DOS Attacks
Post by: mk1 on Jan 04, 2012, 14:21:46
Advise needed:

My router over the last week has now detected two DOS attacks, both of which have lasted about ten mins. I have the source IP of both (they differ) and the destination ports which seem to be random. What should i do about this?

Absolutely nothing. Just sit back and relax - its perfectly normal.  :)

Sounds like a plan, is there any reason for this, i've not noticed it before?

It does register some as DOS attacks, it is just dropping the packets, don't worry, the firewall is just doing its job.

You could sneeze and the Netgear would warn you of a DOS attack. It's just something they do.
