They are also using similar techniques to hopefully do the same 10X increase on HDDs. Finding clever ways to get crystals and materials to form, can give better materials to build with. In this case it means they get really fine structures for putting magnetic data on, or reading light pulses on fibre. :)

Although, how long till release and how expensive will it be!  :o
