Good morning all,
I am another rat that has jumped the sinking Plusnet ship. It is something of a shock to see status as green on everything here, I supose I will get used to it.
A big thanks to Tim and his sense of humour during the sign up and to Miriam for the speedy set up of email account.
Trev...Welcome welcome ;D
Welcome trev!
You'll be suprised at how long that green light stays on :)
Thanks for the kind replies, looking forward to a long and happy stay.
Hi mate, you have made a good choice ;)
What green ligh, where is the green light. Nobody told me anything about a green light. Is it a good thing? Does it flash or is it steady? Where is it I want one as well. :) ;D
Sorry cavaillas, I was confused, I have come from Plusnet, so it's normal to be confused. ;) Everything there is either an amber or red light and I thought I saw green lights here, perhaps I should make the suggestion IDnet change OK to green lights to ease the transition for us ex plus users :P Now a flashing green light for plusnet sounds good for all the times they say they fixed something when they haven't.
What or where are these lights you are talking about mate it seems we are all confused?
I was refering to the status symbols that resemble lights, that plusnet use to indicate the state of various parts of their network and confused these with the green OK used by IDnet. I am sorry to all that I have confused and will crawl back into my hole.
You mean these ? - http://www.idnet.net/status.jsp
Greetings Trev m8 :)

Oh sh~t.... :o
Just remembered that I had forgotten to thank Bill in my original post as it was his reply to where I might find a suitable alternative ISP that directed me to IDnet. Thank you kind sir.
I have no wish to see the shooting start on account of my posts :-X

You've clearly never tried Free Chat over on AG.... Scott's favourite forum :P
Free Chat...ahhhhh...Dip me in honey and throw me to the bears :D :D
Trev, chill man, this place was created by and is used by ordinary folk, I don`t even think there`s any of us work in the IT industry, except Scott who works in a bank, but that isn`t a real job as we pay his wages thru fines and overdrafts and they don`t really do hard work anyway, and they never sweat, even in this weather as they all have airco in their offices. ;) :D
No one is judged here ... at least not to your face :D
It's true...all true. But if it makes you all feel any better I'm in the basement and have nairy a sliver of sky to gaze upon...! :'(
Come winter-time this far norf' I come to work in the dark...I go home in the dark....IS IT A WONDER WE DRINK AS MUCH :D :D
Jeff, I shall take your advice and start my chilling out process by opening another large bottle of 2001 Chimay Blue a rather fine trappist beer from Belgium at 9% ;D

Naah, all you need is a big stick.... though I'll admit that a couple of inches of armour plate can be handy at times :o

Geddin....A fine brew ! Gawd bless those Monks - who says the Church doesn't reach out to people any more ?
The weak stuff, eh? When I lived in Holland, Belgian Trappiste beer I sampled was 13% :o
I had 6 bottles and got up out the chair for a run off, 2 seconds flat was horizontal!
You can get Leffe, another fine Belgian brew in Asda. only 6.6% but it`s bloody lovely.
I just get 30 cans of Stella (2 x 15 packs are on special at Asda atm) for the weekend these days, she`s gannin doon well the neet!! :D
I find 6 bottles at 9% is about as much as I can handle when we are cycling 100km, never tried to run though ;)

Ya know, you really should consider wearing a helmet if you drink that much on a bike ride ;)
