Safari strikes again. I'm seeing a bullet point icon for whatever smiley is being posted in the first few posts here.

Oh and I got the update with no issues. Unusual for me, plus I won a tenner on the lottery the night I installed it. I'll get hit by a bus on the way home :D

Clear your cache and restart Safari, Niall.

Yes, I had smilies instead of menu buttons the other day, which was fun for a while, but not entirely functional.  ;D  Closing Safari, clearing cache and restating Safari did the trick.

I've won a few tenners and a couple of grand about 6 years ago, no sniff of the jackpot though, I'm still having to work for a living.

Is that anything like stating the obvious?

Clear your cache and restart Safari, Niall.

I clear it every time I close it, as I do with all browsers :)

But do you close, or just exit, Safari?

Eh? :D

Surely if you close it, you've exited it? I go into settings for safari and manually delete things. I also have it set to private browsing.

No, if you're talking about on an iPhone / iPad, exiting is not closing, as it's still running in the background.  You need to double click the Home button to bring up the running programs, then touch the Safari button for 2 seconds, until they start to wiggle, the hit the 'x' to close it.  THEN, go into the Safari settings and delete Cookies and Data.

That's something that is annoying about mobile OS design, whether it be Android or IOS, it should ask when you move away from a certain app whether you want to leave it running or not, only exception should be where execution is interrupted by a phone call.

I think that would generate quite a few annoying pop-ups.

Maybe add an option in settings.
