Couple of keys on my laptop have started to fall off. Anybody know how to sort this?
If it's just the keytops, then super glue will often sort it.
Thanks for your help.
I'd say it's an excuse to the other half to get a new laptop...
Failing that, super glue should be just fine!
Nice lateral thinking, Lance - Simon's puzzles are clearly rubbing off on you. :)
I've always fancied myself as a box of an out-of-the-box thinker! When the subject and time suit that is!
I like things that come out of a box. :)

Oh yes, it's always very exciting isn't it? The only trouble I have is where to put all the empty ones, in case I need to return something, or sell it on. ;D
After 21 years here, you should see our loft! :o

Sounds like our garage Rik, thing is all the boxes seem to be things I have bought ;D
Yup, and I don't like to throw them away as they'll be handy for moving one day...
Super glue is not the answer as most laptop keyboard keys need to move on a scissor type pivot, gluing it will stop the key from working correctly
I didn't know that, Glenn - I've only ever repaired normal keyboards. Is there a solution for notebooks?
You need to check the lugs on the pivot and on the base of the keycap to ensure that they are not damaged. If they are ok then it is usually just a matter of refitting the key cap correctly
