My router has just re-booted at 12 days, 12 hours and 17 minutes, give or take a few minutes.
Weird. ???
That's apx. 300 hours. Does your router have a 300 hour lease set on it at all? Just a silly thought.
Not that I've been able to find, Alf. :( Even if it did, why not just renew the lease - instead it goes for a full power-cycle reboot.
Is there anything on the scream forum about a 300hr reboot with the SBC firmware?
Haven't looked, tbh, Glenn. I rarely get outside this place. :)
You may find reference to the problem in here (http://www.the-scream.co.uk/forums/t22658.html?&highlight=2700+reboot) there are 44 pages to wade through though.
Only 44, it's lucky they haven't got us amongst them. ;) Thanks, Glenn, I'll take a look in the morning.
Mine is exactly the same, Rik. It's always at around the 12 day mark. It's a very strange one! ???
Isn't it, Sebby. I could understand it dropping PPP due to a leasing issue, but it's a full power cycle it does. I'm beginning to wonder if it's something to do with the US telecomms system, ie a design requirement for over there.
Another random thought, Rik. Does the router try to do a check with BT every 12 days and because it can't reboots?
I don't think so, Alf, as it has the SBC firmware and doesn't phone home. Sebby also has this issue, and is also running SBC. Those with the BT firmware don't seem to see it. I hate puzzles. :(
Puzzles I don't mind, not being able to solve them really gets me though and I don't have a 2700 either yet I can emphasize with your aggravation. Got to lay down now too many long words for this time of morning. ;D
;D
I know how you feel, Alf. :)
I think this is a puzzle we won't be able to piece together... :P
One day, Sebby, one day. :)
Once again, bang on the 300 hour mark - I thought it was tomorrow, I must learn to count!
Just been reading this and i must say I'm very bamboozled about it! Is it just you that this seems to affect?
Sebby had the same problem, Steve. It seems peculiar to single SSID models with the SBC formware.
Does it affect your sync in anyway or do you just reboot at the same
It dropped 80k this time, but it hasn't affected the profile. I try to remember to shut the router down overnight on day 11, which ensures synch isn't affected, but I haven't yet written an automatic reminder program. ;)
lol!! Well at least that's something. :thumb:
Could you set a reminder using a recurring event in Outlook's calendar?
Or on my Palm, Lance. Just keep forgetting to do it. As it's 12 days 12 hours, a re-boot on the morning of the 12th day would do nicely. :)
Rik, if you use Outlook or something, put a reminder in the calendar
How about a timer plug, Rik?
How about changing router? :out: :out: :out: :out:
A dangerous suggestion where the 2Wire is concerned, Mo. :P
Way too crude, Sebby - it would be bound to reset just as I was doing something. ;)
I'm now 12 days and 8 hours, only 4 hours to go to see if this dual SSID suffers from the reboot issue or not!
See you at one then. :)
I checked before I left this morning, and no reboot! So it seems the SBC firmware on the single SSIDs is to blame, for whatever reason. :)
Time for me to go shopping then. :)
I'm sure one will turn up soon for you Rk!
Tbh, just the fact that it doesn't reboot justifies the 13 quid for me! :)
i have officially joined the ranks with the 12 day reboot syndrome ;D almost 300 hours to the minute. Has to be a SBC bug, very odd.
It is, Ted, but it quickly becomes very annoying. :(
Why don't you give the Singtel firmware a twirl ?
'Cos I'm moving to a dual SSID. ;)

Hi Glen,
Not having experienced the 300 hour reboot with my single SSID 2700 but intrigued by it I have been having a wade through the thread on the "scream"
At post 123 contrary to Rik's, Sebby's and the experience of others unlokia says this,
"Dudes - that original BT firmware (UK) caused my BT2700HGV to disconnect randomly from BT broadband. I don't know why, but when I restored the SBC firmware back (USA one) everything settled down again. I mean it's a little too much of a fluke, that it runs for 5 months with SBC unlocked firmware with no issues whatsoever, but as soon as I flashed THIS BT ONE in, it disconnected three times in 20 minsDudes - that original BT firmware (UK) caused my BT2700HGV to disconnect randomly from BT broadband. Ok at post 150 I ran out of steam not having spotted anything about the dreaded 300 hour reboot cycle.
I think both the BT and SBC firmware for the single SSID have their good and bad points. All I can say is that the BT firmware on the dual SSID seems to be rock solid. :thumb:
I'll second that, sebby! And i've since i've had my E side pairs swapped i've had a really stable line.
That's good to hear, Lance. I was wondering the other day whether things were still stable. :)
Since having it done, I've only had three (I think) re-syncs. One of those was caused by our main trip switch getting flipped and therefore losing the router having no power, and the second I think was a random burst of noise on the line. :)
And the third? ;D
Was caused by the router fairy... ;)
A power cut at about 3 in the morning! That was the first since i had the wire sorted!
