Several of us unable to connect today - see posting on ADSL Guide. IDnet status page says all OK.
mine just back up at 9:21
Mine is still down at 09:35 and the status page still says ok.
Mine been down since 07:00 this morning according to my routers log.
Edit at 10:18 - came back up at 10:17 :)
Mine came back at 10.14, the router was reporting a CHAP failure
Mine went off somewhen overnight....
Usual pattern- I checked it wasn't my end, left a message with CS, it came back up about 20 minutes later (10:15 ish), shortly after that Simon phoned to see what the problem was!
Weird... that's the second time that's happened, I think BT must wait until I phone IDNet before doing whatever they do to fix it :D
CHAP?
It may have been down.......but something has changed, for I have a constant 5.22mb's download now ??? (either all the little bratts around here have sold their pc's or BT have done something :P )
Sunday used to be one of the worst days to go online here ....but hopefully that has changed ;D
Simon phoned me after it came back as well. He thought it was BT doing some maintenance.
Could have been that as the good news is that since it has been back up the cap has gone. Shame Sunday afternoon and only getting about 3000 on a 8192 sync.
Still better than 2M.
Speeds are a bit slow here to but better than before Max dsl!

CHAP?
Challenge Handshake Authentication Protocol ;0) A cool way of authenticating something without ever having to send the cipher over the network.
If it`s gonna turn to cr*p it`s usually always a Sunday ;) What is it with Sundays?? :)
God's way of making you unplug and get some sleep before Monday ;)

Sort of beat ya Bill, left work December 16th 2000 (forced into Hospital for 3 weeks) and I have not been back since (health says no no) :(
1st November, 2004 for me. Customer insulted me,(think he said I was with AOL or something like that :) :)).
Seriously tho., I just woke up that morning and, as I was self employed, decided I'd had enough.
Best days work I never did !! ;D ;D
10th March me ot a letter on the 11th telling me i'd finished on the 10th
not bad after 22 years.

I suppose I'd better be honest and admit mine wasn't entirely voluntary... couple of medium severe heart attacks in mid-2000 meant full-time work was a bit hard to keep up with. Part-time was an option, but would soon have had pension implications.
Fortunately, the company I worked for (Brown-Root-Vickers, they'd taken over AWE Aldermaston as contractors) wanted to lose a lot of staff on voluntary redundancy, I looked at the figures and decided it was "take the money and run" time!
Could have done without the HA's, but on the whole I'm not complaining too hard.
Well Bill, if my health deteriorates the way my fathers did, I will be getting the HA's as well.......but hopefully not for another few years yet ;)
But what is wrong with me, is best described this way -:
"The kidneys are about five-and-a-half inches long (14 cm), three inches wide (8 cm) and two inches thick (5 cm). They weigh 10 to 12 ounces."
"A normal kidney is the size of a human fist. However, with the presence of PKD, cysts develop in both kidneys. There may be just a few cysts or many, and the cysts may range in size from a pinhead to the size of a grapefruit. When many cysts develop, the kidneys can grow to be the size of a football or larger and weigh as much as 38 pounds each."
At the moment, my kidneys are 26 and 28cms in length and 12cms wide and the best part, 11cms thick :(
My liver (which is also infected is approx 1 and a half times normal size and still growing :(
So basically, movement has to be on the slow side, no bending, lifting or fast and awkward turns :(
So my career as a Restaurant manager went down the tubes xmas 2000 >:(
That sounds not nice, my sympathies and best wishes...
Makes my limitations seem trivial :(
No Bill, it does not make your limitations seem trivial, ill health is ill health, no matter what you have wrong :(
Mine is all hereditary and it seems to always be the 2cnd born......my father was 2cnd, I was 2cnd and my youngest son has it :(
But I have now got to the stage of thinking "I've got it, so live with it", so you will hardly ever see me without a smile on my face ;D
I'm just a bit annoyed with the government at mo....for their Quacks did say I was A1 fit and forced me back to work >:( they got a shock three weeks later, I ended up in hospital again with ruptured cysts and an infection in them, I nearly sued them but my solicitor said it would have been a long drawn out affair.....which I would not have been able to afford >:(

Find me someone who isn't... but I'd better not continue with that or Jeff will bump me over into Rants & Raves :o
I reckon we should have a "rant at Government" section and lets see how many different topics of hate appear.... ;D ;D
BTW peeps, service was down due to planned work by BT (which obviously didn`t go to plan). Simon has stated that in future he will try to give us the heads up so we know what`s going on ;)
