Title: SMTP server delays
Post by: Ann on Jun 28, 2008, 08:49:15
Anyone else having problems with IDNets email sending server?  Several posts I've sent to Yahoo email lists have taken hours to arrive.  One yesterday took 12 hours then last night I got a warning email from IDNet to say that one email hadn't been delivered for 24 hours.  Why not?  Other posts to the same email list arrive instantly.  It's getting very frustrating.  Seeing posts of mine appear on a list long after the discussion has moved on is embarrassing and I'm going to have stop posting.  I've just posted one now and it's not arrived, so god knows when that'll appear..

I just sent a test message from my IDNet account and it arrived instantly, so it's looking like a Yahoo! problem, but if you're convinced it's not, there must be some kind of issue with the IDNet server, so your best bet would be to get in touch with support.

No problems here. I wonder whether Yahoo have black-listed the IDNet server?

Both missing posts have since arrived so maybe just a fairly long blip, time will tell.  Can't be yahoo blacklisting IDNet as it's not every post.  But I have no idea whether it's IDNet who can't pass on my posts or Yahoo who can't take them but that's where the hold up is.  I emailed support last night but these things always come to a head on a weekend don't they, ah well it's not very important as things go and if it's only me I doubt they'll know where to kick the server to make it behave anyway.

Have you one that hasn't been delivered, Ann. The header might give a clue.
