Post by: David on Jul 01, 2008, 10:51:39
Here is a simple one,but enough about me  ;D..I can copy and paste with all my other machines but this one has never worked (and I always thought it was me) >:D
Anyway It has to be this keyboard perhaps. This is a wireless keyboard and mouse, its a microsoft job I was wondering if its plausible to reinstall the software in the hope this function may work.its not the problem of the century but its a facility I could do with on this machine  any thoughts ?

There's nothing to lose by trying, David, but first check in control panel > keyboards that you have the correct model selected.

Are you saying that keyboard shortcuts, such as CTRL+C to copy, don't work, David?

I have not tried them all but it would appear or so far have only discovered this one  al the F keys work.I have noticed that when I try to copy and paste the file edit history tools and help all have a dark grey line mark appear so something is happening but it will not copy.the mouse is fine I can copy and paste with this but, sorry I cannot take screen shots  but I can on other machines

Hi David,

If you're trying to cut and paste using the mouse in the menus or right-clicking and that's not working then I  think it's a Windows problem and not a keyboard problem. Can you swap the KB/mouse with one of the other computers and and see if the problem follows the machine or the KB/mouse?

Cheers,
Paul.

Yes Paul I think this is my only option now as I have no problem with my others so will change them over  :thumb:
