I've heard that NOD32 Antivirus is supposed to be rather good. I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with it, and/or running it under Windows Vista?
TIA
Dan
It is rather good, Dan. :) Noreen is running it with Vista, I think Lance is as well, plus others who have slipped my mind.
I run the security package on my laptop and the av on my main home pc.. both are running vista.
Had no problems.
Install it and you forget its running after a few days (thats how much i dont notice it) :D
Seems to do what it's supposed to, Dan, it updates most days. Yes I am running it with Vista and will be renewing my subscription shortly.
Have a look at the comparatives page here http://www.av-comparatives.org/
Nod is good but please note the last test is a retrospective test using I believe one month old signatures and relying on heuristics, look at the test before to get a better feel for NOD as in the real world we do not run on signatures that are that old, hopefully ;)
Thanks, Gary, I always wondered what that meant. :thumb:
As rik has said, i run just the antivirus on two vista machines with no problems at all.

Hope you had a great time.

Thanks for that Lance, my eldest daughter has just graduated so I wish I'd known that before. I'll just have to wait for my youngest one to start Uni next year.

...no problematic updates either
On the subject of problematic updates has anyone else had problems updating AVG today? I am receiving a message saying it can not connect with the update server, when I have access to the internet. I think it may just be their server down.
No such message here Net
Nor here. ;)
Thanks for the welcome back, In!
John, i have posted several times about the discount, you really must keep up with the posts!
Have you checked the time/date on your computer? I know that can cause trouble with updates on AVG.

On another forum yesterday, someone reported the same problem but managed to get the updates today. Seems to be happening quite a bit lately.
My colleague had a problem with AVG not updating last night too...
Mine is OK now, just a blip. ;)
I've been running this very happily now for quite some time. I was glad from the very day i uninstalled Norton AV and changed to NOD32.. its nowhere near the resource hog that norton was.. and I just feel so much more 'protected' under NOD32.
gets my :thumb: :thumb: for sure! :)
