I  decided to keep my PB and upgraded it to Vista ,now alls fine with it in fact I was rather pleased with it . I cane see that the old XP is still there in or on a "partition"which I can just about figure out...can I take the XP off ?

My aim now is to take advantage of a good offer for this machine and set up.
Here are my options I think

I did make revoery discs when I first got this machine....is it possible to reset the machine with these disc ?
Would it be better to delete the XP ?

You know what this is about I do not know the person well enough to jsut hand it over and I want the basic machine with no data on it before agreeing the sale......

The simplest answer, other than a hammer as it would not be worth much then  ;D

Delete the XP, David, if you're sure you don't need or want it anymore. If you have access to the partition, then re-format it at least.

Rik

It won't be, David. If you're feeling strong, you could delete the partition and re-install Vista to the entire disk.

I'd be inclined to delete all partitions and do a fresh install of Vista, David. It's a much cleaner way to install Windows.

Rik

And we all want clean Windows... ;D :out:

You may also want to use a secure shredder on the disk, just to be on the safe side.

Thanks Ted is this easy to use .....you know me if it can go wrong I will find a way.........to be honest in an ideal world I would have taken the HD out and obliterated it but that isnt an option and I have too many set ups here 2 lap tops 2 desktops is enough for one man really

Quick cuppa I think ,just finished for the day  ;)
