I need to forward all the emails that arrive in one of my IDNet email accounts to another email address, but I can't find how to do it - the email message filtering option form has a 'forwarding' option, but no instructions as to how the other fields in the form should be set for forwarding all mail...

I did a search of the forum and found a post suggesting there was a 'Forwarding' option in the email 'Account Settings', but it doesn't seem to exist... there doesn't seem to be any help for mail settings either.

Anyone?

Oh, and another thing - how do I get to view the full email headers?

Rik

I just put the email address as the To field, then select forward, and enter the address I want. Does this not work for you?

Viewing headers depends on which client you are using.

IIRC, it's how Rik says, though I haven't got access at the moment to check. :)

Sorry, I wasn't very clear - I'm trying to automatically forward all emails to another address.

All emails sent to a single IDNet address? The method I've outlined will do that. You would have to repeat it for each idnet.com address though. Say your address was user@idnet.com. Then, in the filter set up To as including user@idnet.com, then choose forward and enter the address you want the mail to go to. You may wish to make two more rules, one for CC includes and one for BCC includes.

You can't view headers in that. You'd need to use OE, Outlook or Thunderbird etc. Sorry.

I concur with the above, and have a filter set up myself in this way.

I just noticed - when you enter the Email Filter Setup page for a particular account, there's no indication on the page of the email account the filter will apply to. Rik suggested I'd have to set up forwarding separately for each email account, which makes sense, but can it all be done from the same Email Filter Setup page, i.e. is the Email Filter Setup page shared between the accounts, or do I have to access it from each account settings page and set up only the forwarding for that account?

If the latter is the case, it would really help to have an indication on the Email Filter Setup page of which account it will apply to (I have the memory of a goldfish).

Rik

You have to set it for each account, the pages are separate but unlabelled once you enter the filter dialogue. I'll pass your suggestion to support.

;D I'm sure he's pretty busy already, but it would be helpful.

I was hoping for an option to simply forward all emails arriving in the intray, but the message filtering solution seems to work OK, and although a bit more involved, it only has to be done once.

Rik

You will now find that the filter setup page displays the email account name. :)
