Oh and im also looking at using a different firmware

Am i right in staying away from any BT firmwares? I'm looking at SingTel Recovery firmware v5.29.117.3 - is this one of the newest custom ones which will work?

Rik

Can't help you with the firmware, Sam, but the only difference in my setup is that I don't allow remote management.

I believe you can only sync at a target SNRM of 8dB+ with the Singtel firmware, btw.

mrapoc

Current Noise Margin:         11.0 dB         25.0 dB
Current Attenuation:       25.9 dB       14.0 dB
Current Output Power:       19.8 dBm    12.4 dBm

:)

Still

Servers are being blocked (I cannot see over 200 counter strike source servers whereas a friend has 3000)

I have tried unblocking Steam ports but have yet to see Counter strike source ports

I am now timing out about 20% of the time when trying to load pages

Time to change firmware again?  :rant2:

The best Firmware upgrade is 2700hgv_.5-29-107_kogt2s-firmware2wire.2sp

A later BT Firmware,  bt-2700hgv_reinstall_voice_adsl_5-29-107-19.2sp, is available, but is still being tested, see Tripod for more details.

As ever, all at your own risk.

Tripod lists all the available Firmwares and if you read through the articles you will learn which are suitable for the Single SSID

Installed and unlocked

Seems ok

Got a random error earlier about a 3rd router or something :S

how much would a 2700 sell for? Is it possible to go back to SBC v4 from such a firmware? This did perform the same with added hacks.

Glenn

A 2700 on ebay will fetch around £5 - £20 + P&P

You can safely disable that warning - it's when the router thinks another device on the network is a router, and it's nearly always wrong.

Gone back to SBC

kept gttign time outs and slowness

anyway, perhaps as i have a speedtouch router as a switch in my room, i shud try setting the speedtouch to DMZ mode or would this mean anything connected to the speedtouch would be open to the outside world too?

all firewall settings etc. are disabled on the speedtouch.

perhaps i shud experiment without the speedtouch hooked up at all ?

edit:

The selected device has a static IP address. DMZplus requires that the selected device use DHCP to obtain its IP address.
