Hi,

I've received a Netgear DG834 test modem/router from IDNet to try to get to the bottom of my internet connection problem. IDNet believe my modem was at fault and sent me this one to try out. When I type 192.168.0.1 into the address bar, I'm asked for the username and password. I've tried the default admin/password but this is not correct, any ideas what it could be? I've tried the obvious ones but no luck.

TIA.

Rik

It's usually your IDNet username and password, MO. :)

Thanks Rik. No go I'm afraid, I've tried the obvious IDNet ones but still no luck. Just to re-iterate the screen I'm confronted with asking for the username/password, thanks.

They must have changed their default settings then, sorry. :(

Thanks Rik, I'll give IDNet a call on Monday.

They are closed till January 4, MO. Why do you want to get into the router?

The test modem IDNet sent me has no wireless security setup. IDNet have since been kind enough to let me keep the modem hence me trying to set up security so that the chavs down the road don't use my connection!  ;)

Drop support an email on Tuesday, but it won't be treated as urgent during the holiday period, so don't expect an immediate reply. OTOH, the bandwidth isn't costing you anything. ;)

I had a brainwave last night and reset the router. Hey Presto, it reverted back to the default factory settings........:thumb:
