Im after something to keep my life in check...im forever forgetting stuff - so yeh something to pop up and remind me a day or so before i have to be somewhere, or just something to check free dates

Any ideas?

I use a Palm PDA for such things, Sam, so I've never explored desktop software to do the job (though Outlook might be OK if you have it?).

I do but i prefer thunderbird over it - unless its not such a pita as i first thought it was

Might be something to consider but iirc i dont have a way of backing up /restoring emails from thunderbird to outlook

Rik

You could just use the calendar/contact/journals element of Outlook, Sam.

There is an addon caleld lightening for thunderbird

seems to do the job :)

Rik

There you go then. Now you need a nice, programmable, reminder facility. :)

If you have a gmail account Sam, the calendar on there is great  :thumb:

Sunbird is the stand alone version of Lightning, Sam, and it's what I use.  You can set pop up reminders, as I believe you can with Lightning.
