Hey folks,

I have a Linksys WAG54GS which have used for about 18 months with no major problems, although recently the signal seems to consistently be 'low' and dropping all the while. I have tried numerous things, such as trying different security settings, channels and wireless modes but still with no joy.

I did think it might be my adaptor, a WUSB54GS as it has modified drivers as I could not find 'proper' XP 64 bit ones, but my girlfriend is also having similar issues with her Belkin USB adaptor with proper drivers. The other thing is I cant connect my nintendo Wii wirelessly now (well, it finds the connection when setting up a new connection, but throws an error everytime you try and use the shop or browser channel) but my friend brought his macbook round which connected at full strength first time!

Grr its annoying me now, is it worth getting one of those booster aerials for about £30 or can anyone suggest anything?

Ta much  ;D

I can't help with your problem i'm afraid (I'm assuming you've powered off the router and done resets). But what i would suggest is rather than paying £30 for the booster aerial, you might as well go on ebay and get a "new" router instead.

Hope you get it sorted!

Ah well, seems to have resolved itself again  :-\

Left security off for one evening, got worries and put WEP back on again and seems to be constant at 54 meg again now although get the occasional disconnect in WoW / web browsing but put this down to the line, its nothing horrendous now anyway. (Just watch it go pear-shaped as soon as I get home)
