Is www.idnet.com down for anyone else, I get a 503 Service Temporary Unavailable error?

It may also be related to my momentary outage of my internet (sync stayed up). Perhaps just a glitch.

Steve
Have I lost my way?

This post doesn't necessarily represent even my own opinions, let alone anyone else's

Ann

It's a long glitch.  IDNet.com is still down for me.

I'm getting the 503 error too, although I've been connected since the disconnect on Friday.

Happened over the weekend too but with a different error message.

Not thinking of abandoning ship, but it's getting a bit unstable round here lately.

Its down here as well still trying  ???
Many hammer all over the wall and believe that with each blow they hit the nail on the head.

In what way, Drummer. I've noticed two outages recently, one due to BT working on a central, the second due to a network upgrade to IPv6 late on Boxing Day. This specific issue will have been a server falling over and needing a re-boot.

You can use either, Baz. The com domain came after the net.

Yep, working again for me now.

Simon

I reported this last night, as noted in the other thread, which I haven't got to yet.  According to Simon, the server seems to have developed some "intermittent instability", which he is investigating.

I bet the server is sulking because everyone else got a holiday. :)

not everyone, I ended up working on Xmass day (and boxing day) and mon/tues/wed & today as well.

seems servers just know when its holiday time and thats when they decide to through hissy fits and blow up psu's and hard drives (luckily all redundant ones so no outage just a pain in the neck visit to docklands)

Rik

Sorry to hear that, Dean. Did you give Samson a pat while you were there? :)

would have used my new adjusting tool....a 2Kg splitting maul (with a 3 foot handle).....

splits large logs nicely, when i get a misbehaving server they had better watch out!!!

strange that after telling servers about my new tool they suddenly start behaving.

and yes at work i have a reputation,

I am the only person ever to throw a server from a forth storey building. It landed in the skip but bounced out.

Sounds like a good tool for 'formatting' a hard drive.  :)

No i did not try again, when it bounced out of skip it landed about 2 metres from a car which i later discovered was one of the bosses.

It also fell into about 3 pieces, damm thing had been a pain in the side for about 2 years (cost cutting the company changed "preferred" manufacturer-only lasted for about 2 months, then they saw error of not listening to the people that worked on them), always going wrong, spares not avalible off the shelf usually a week lead time. down to our last 2 that are still out in the field.

yes you guessed it, it was a d*ll. finally got it replaced with a real server and i was told "we can use it for spares or use it as an in house server" hence i accidentally tripped up, struggled to get my footing and accidentally let go of it right by an open window with a skip below,  totally accidental you understand

Hence my reputation.

Rik

 ;D

Remind me not to let you near any of my boxes, Dean. :)
