At 21.57 yesterday evening we had what would appear to be a major outage. A neighbour down the road had the same and is with BT, so obviously a BT\exchange issue.
It came back on in the early hours, what concerns me is the noise margin. Normally its stuck at 11 and will sometimes drop to 10.

Looks like BT did something major and have tripped the NM up to 15db in the process, Ted. It would be worth having a word with support to see if they can get it reset.

They certainly did something alright :thumbd:

Claire was talking on Facebook to a friend just up the road and they both went out at the same time (they swapped to text messaging) so i know it was a local issue.

I'll give support a call as this is clearly an issue for BT to sort out, shame you can't call BT directly and not have to bother IDnet with something that is not their problem. Oh well.

I'll let you know what happens.

Thanks, Ted. Do you have a WBC date?

Had a quick word with support and there was indeed a major BT outage which IDnet are aware of. The incident isn't signed off yet, but when it is and (if) i still have a problem with the NM, they will try and sort it out for me.

Watch this space!  ;D

I think the WBC date isn't until late 2009 IIRC

So not that, then. Did support say what areas were affected?

Sorry, didn't ask about where was affected, just that it was a major outage on a BT element or something like that (should have paid more attention)
Can't have been too wide spread as no one else seems to have noticed. :)

It was Wales, Ted. I'm amazed Den hasn't noticed yet. As you say, it's ongoing. Most people should be re-connected by now, a router re-boot may be necessary for some.
