Good morning.

I am hoping to utilise my free blog space provided by IDNET and I see that it uses Wordpress. I am trying to import a Blogware XML file, but when I attempt to do so, I get the message ' Unable to create directory /storage/www/wordpress/wp-content/uploads'. This suggests a permissions problem.

Has anybody else experienced this, and is there a solution.

Many thanks for your time.

Glenn

Rikki, Welcome to IDnet.  :karma:

Are you trying to upload from your IDNet line or from another location, I believe that you can only upload from your registered ADSL line.

Hi Glenn.

Thank you for responding.

I am working through my IDNet ADSL line. It does allow me to add new posts.

There seems to be a problem either with permissions, or the default directory that it uplaods to. I have tried changing the default directory, but  whatever I change it to it always tries to upload to a path beginning with 'Unable to create directory /storage/www/wordpress/wp-content' .

Ordinarily if I was in control of the directory, I would just change the permissions.

Any ideas?

Regards

Glenn

I think it maybe something that you will need to contact the support about, the permissions may need adjusting on your account

Or they may restrict what you can do with the blog. Welcome, Rikki.  :thumb: :karma:

Out of curiosity, I checked with support. This behaviour is 'by design' to prevent any nasties being put on the server. If anyone wants a script/feature added, they need to send it to support for testing and implementation. :)
