Apologies for the disruption earlier today.

It was caused by an OSPF routing update between the edge and core routers that got out of hand. We're working at preventing a recurrence. We do however, expect that there may be another small disruption tomorrow in order to finally fix the issue. We expect that our new circuits will then be fully integrated into the network.

A phone call later...

Open Shortest Path First - a routing protocol that sends the packets via the smallest number of hops... I learn a little each day. :)

well ever since the problems over the last few days, my pings are double or more than what they used to be.

BBC is pinging about 100ms at the mo
IDnet.com is around 40-50ms

My ping is normally around 13-16ms.
